Who is it for ?

The P6 is designed for musicians, bands, sound engineers, DJs, recording professionals, event technicians and live performers who need to connect instruments or other unbalanced audio sources to mixers, PA systems or recording equipment. It is particularly useful for anyone looking for a flexible DI solution with THRU output, PAD, high-pass filter, phase reversal and ground lift.

Active Direct Injection for Clean Signal Transfer

The Kadence P6 Jamming Series Active DI Box is designed to connect instruments and other unbalanced audio sources to professional audio systems. It helps deliver a clean and reliable signal to mixers, PA systems and recording equipment.

Supports 48V Phantom or USB Type-C Power

The unit can operate using 48V phantom power from a compatible mixer or audio system, or through 5V DC power via USB Type-C. This provides flexibility for both stage and studio setups.

Balanced XLR Main Output

The balanced XLR output allows the instrument signal to be connected to a mixer, stage box or other professional audio equipment using a standard XLR cable, making it suitable for longer cable runs in live sound environments.

Parallel Thru Output

The 6.35 mm parallel THRU output allows the original instrument signal to be passed to another device while simultaneously sending the signal to the mixer through the XLR output. This is useful when connecting an instrument to an amplifier and PA system at the same time.

-15 dB PAD for Strong Signals: The built-in -15 dB PAD reduces the input signal level when working with high-output instruments or sources. This helps provide additional headroom and reduces the possibility of overloading the connected audio system.

80 Hz High-Pass Filter

The 80 Hz high-pass filter helps reduce unwanted low-frequency content such as rumble, stage vibration and other low-end noise. It can be useful when a cleaner and more controlled low-frequency response is required.

FAQs

1) What is a DI box?

A DI (Direct Injection) box is an audio device that allows instruments and other unbalanced audio sources to be connected to professional mixers, PA systems and recording equipment through a balanced XLR connection.

2) What type of DI box is the P6?

The P6 is an active, single-channel DI box designed for instruments and other compatible unbalanced audio sources.

3) How is the P6 powered?

It can be powered in two ways: 48V phantom power from a compatible mixer or audio system, or 5V DC through its USB Type-C connection.

4) What instruments can be connected to it?

It is suitable for instruments with a 6.35 mm (1/4") TS output, including guitars, bass guitars, keyboards and other compatible electronic instruments.

5) What is the THRU output used for?

The THRU output sends a parallel copy of the incoming signal to another device. For example, you can send the instrument signal to an amplifier while simultaneously sending the signal to the mixer through the XLR output.

6) What does the -15 dB PAD do?

The PAD reduces the incoming signal level by 15 dB. It is useful when connecting a high-output instrument or source that may otherwise produce an excessively strong signal.

7) What is the 80 Hz high-pass filter used for?

The high-pass filter reduces very low-frequency content below approximately 80 Hz, helping minimize unwanted rumble, stage vibration and excessive low-end energy when required.

8) What does the 0°/180° phase switch do?

The phase switch reverses the phase relationship of the signal by 180° when selected. This can be useful when combining signals from multiple sources where phase-related cancellation or tonal changes occur.

9) What is the Ground Lift switch used for?

The Ground Lift function helps reduce unwanted hum and buzz that can occur because of grounding differences between connected audio equipment. It can be particularly useful in live stage and studio setups.

10) Can the P6 be connected directly to a mixer?

Yes. Connect the instrument to the 6.35 mm input and connect the balanced XLR output to a suitable mixer, stage box or audio interface input.

11) Can I use the P6 with an amplifier and mixer at the same time?

Yes. Connect the instrument to the input, connect the THRU output to the amplifier, and connect the XLR output to the mixer. This allows the instrument to feed both systems simultaneously.

12) Is the P6 suitable for live performances?

Yes. Its active design, balanced XLR output, THRU connection, PAD, high-pass filter, phase switch and Ground Lift make it suitable for live performances, rehearsals, PA systems, studios, conferences and other professional audio applications.

13) Setup, warranty, and replacement support

You get a 1-year manufacturing defect warranty and a 7-day replacement window for manufacturing defects.
